Andrea Morucchio realizes for the solo show Puzzling. L’immagine è altro, anche (Puzzling. The image is something else, too) a series of digital works entitled Puzzling composed of thousands of photographic “tiles” reproducing both parts of the mosaic pavement of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice and details of the wings of lepidoptera.
The geometric, phytomorphic and zoomorphic motifs of the Marciana pavement are repositioned and sorted to reinterpret four female portraits of Leonardo da Vinci - Puzzling classic - while the bright colors, the dashes and the backgrounds of the butterfly wings revisit as many works by Andy Warhol - Puzzling Pop -.
